What video quality does the LX2 record?
The LX2 records in 2K QHD at 30fps with HDR through a 150° wide-angle F/2.0 lens — sharp enough to read licence plates in typical riding conditions. You can also switch to 1080p at 60fps for smoother motion, or 1080p at 30fps with HDR for maximum battery life. Audio is recorded too, and the mic can be switched off in the app.
How does it perform at night?
The LX2 uses a Sony STARVIS image sensor with an F/2.0 aperture, designed specifically for low-light capture. Night rides, dawn commutes, and overcast days all record with usable detail — not the grainy smear you get from standard sensors.
What is auto-incident detection?
The LX2's built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts and automatically locks the footage around the event so it can't be overwritten by loop recording. If something happens on the road, the evidence is saved — even if you don't think to press anything. Sensitivity can be adjusted in the app.
What is loop recording? Will I run out of storage?
The LX2 records continuously in short segments (1, 2, or 3 minutes — your choice in the app). When the memory card fills up, the oldest unlocked footage is overwritten automatically, so you never have to manage storage between rides. Locked incident footage is never overwritten.
Does the LX2 have radar?
No. The LX2 is a camera and rear light in one — it records what happens behind you rather than alerting you to approaching vehicles.
Does it record GPS or speed data?
The LX2 doesn't have built-in GPS.
What memory card do I need?
A 64GB microSD card is included to jumpstart your recording.
Light, battery & durability
How bright is the rear light?
100 lumens on high, 60 lumens on low, with six modes across the two brightness levels: steady, flash, and strobe. Cycle through them with a single button press.
How long does the battery last?
The built-in 3350mAh battery delivers roughly 4 to 7.5 hours of recording depending on resolution, light mode, and weather condition. At 2K with a low LED mode setting, expect around 6 hours of runtime. Recording with the light off improve battery life past 7 hours; running at the high-brightness setting provide a runtime of approximately 4 to 4.5 hours. Enough for a full day of commuting or a long weekend ride either way.
How do I charge it, and how long does it take?
Via the USB-C port with the included cable — any standard 5V/2A USB adapter works. The blue indicator light turns off when the battery is full. Fully charge before your first ride.
Is the LX2 waterproof?
The LX2 carries an IP66 rating — sealed against dust and protected against heavy rain and road spray. Ride it in the rain without a second thought.
Mounting & fit
How does the LX2 mount to my bike?
The LX2 uses a Garmin-style quarter-turn mount with interchangeable rubber pads — three sizes for round seatposts plus a dedicated aero seatpost pad — secured with the included silicone or Velcro strap. A handlebar pad is included too if you'd rather run it front-facing, and a clip mount lets you attach it to a backpack strap or jersey pocket. Everything's in the box; no tools beyond the included set needed.
Will it fit an aero seatpost?
Yes — a dedicated aero seatpost rubber pad comes in the box alongside the three round-post sizes, so D-shaped and aero posts are covered out of the box.
Can I mount it under my saddle instead?
A saddle rail mount is available as an optional accessory if you prefer mounting under the saddle rather than on the seatpost. The standard seatpost mounting covers most setups.
App & footage
Can I view footage on my phone?
Yes. The LX2 connects directly to your phone over its own Wi-Fi — no home network needed. Through the LOOKING CAM app (available on iOS and Android) you can stream a live rearview, start and stop recording, snap photos, adjust camera and light settings, and download footage straight to your phone. No card reader required.
